The Corpus Christi Hooks weathered a fine game by Arkansas center fielder Aaron Blyth to upend the Travelers, 6-5, at Dickey-Stephens Park. Blyth was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The win went to Alberto Chavez in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Kevin Turner took the loss. Corpus Christi is in third place in the South Division with a record of 18-32.

Corpus Christi used the timely hitting of Manny Alas to seize the win. The designated hitter stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the eighth inning to put the Hooks on top, 6-5. It was his only hit in 1 at-bat, but it was a game-changer.

"There's so many different ways you can win a game," said winning manager Ivan Cruz.
