Tight Tilt Goes to RoughRiders, 2-1
|
In a tight contest between the Frisco RoughRiders and the Tulsa Drillers, Glenn Roberson was the determining factor. The Frisco right-hander sparkled in his team's 2-1 win. The winner was Roberson. He threw 8.2 innings of 4-hit ball. The loser was Brian Harvey. The RoughRiders now have a record of 22-31.
Andres Chiprez had a big solo home run for the RoughRiders in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Frisco leading 1-0 and the bases empty, he sized up a fastball from Brian Harvey, who is tied for 10th in the TEX in innings pitched with 66.0, and punished it. The result was his 6th home run of the season, which put the RoughRiders on top, 2-0.
"The RoughRiders earned it," said Tulsa manager Nate Bouse. "Hats off to them."
