The Midland RockHounds powered past the Northwest Arkansas Naturals, 8-7, at Arvest Ballpark. Oscar Alvarez was 3 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring twice, to lead the charge. Matt Johnson was the winner. He's now 7-1. The loser was 23-year old left-handed pitcher Josh Tucker. The RockHounds, at 28-27, sit in second place in the South Division.

Midland took control in the top of the sixth. With two out and runners on 1st and 2nd, Mike Mattingly hit a run-scoring single to make it 4-3, RockHounds.

"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Northwest Arkansas manager Travis Brassard. "The effort was great."
