The Corpus Christi Hooks stopped the Arkansas Travelers, 11-7, at Whataburger Field. The Hooks got a big game from Matt Bliss, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 and driving in 3. Luis Alvares sewed up the save, his 3rd. The third-place Hooks have a record of 24-32.

Collin Barker went 1 for 3 with a walk for Corpus Christi. The 27-year old first baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 5-5 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Jeff Gable. It was his 4th RBI of the season.

"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Corpus Christi manager Ivan Cruz.
