Cardinals Win 9-8 Nail-Biter Versus RockHounds
Gustavo Kramer did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Midland RockHounds from being beaten, 9-8, to the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field. Kramer went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Today's win puts Springfield at 22-34, while Midland falls to 20-36.

The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the 12th inning, when Springfield catcher Chris Phillippi, facing Bruce Caruso, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Cardinals the 9-8 win.

"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Phillippi. "You've got to get results."
