Midland pitcher Alex Cruz had a large part in his team beating the Frisco RoughRiders, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Midland raised its record to 30-27 with the win.

The RockHounds got a big at-bat from first baseman Bill Lodge. For the game, Lodge was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Midland a 2-0 lead.
