Dan Manning could take little solace in pitching a good game. The fact is his Midland RockHounds lost, dropping a 2-0 decision to the San Antonio Missions at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. San Antonio reliever Danny Gregory was the winner. His record is now 1-5. Dan Manning took the loss. John Ferch closed the door for San Antonio, picking up his 10th save of the year.

In the bottom of the first inning, left fielder Andres Pagan had a run-scoring double for San Antonio. It was his 3rd double of the season and put the Missions on top, 1-0.

"The old adage is true," said Pagan. "Good pitching stops good hitting."

The Missions saw their record improve to 34-27.
