In an outstanding mound performance, San Antonio Missions starter Joe Flores fired a complete-game shutout against the Frisco RoughRiders at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium today.

Flores was the key to the Missions's 3-0 win. The 25-year-old left-hander was in high spirits on the mount for much of the game, his mood largely undented by the 7 hits and no walks he allowed.

"7 hits?" he said with a laugh following the game. "Listen, I'd be happy with a 30-hitter as long as it was a shutout."

This season he has made 9 relief appearances with no saves. In 37 innings Flores has chalked up 43 strikeouts while posting a 4-0 record and a 1.46 ERA
