Midland Tags San Antonio with 9-5 Defeat
|
Midland second baseman Lupe Trotman was instrumental in helping the RockHounds triumph, 9-5, over the San Antonio Missions. Trotman went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs. Andy Ash earned the win for Midland. He lasted 5.1 innings, allowing 3 runs on 7 hits, while striking out 7. With the win, he raised his record to 4-6. The RockHounds go to 23-41, putting them last in the South Division.
Midland used the timely hitting of Robert Lopez to capture the win. The left fielder stroked a bases-clearing double in the top of the seventh inning to put the RockHounds on top, 8-3. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"Our approach was just to try to see something over the plate and be aggressive," Trotman told the Midland Chronicle.
