Altoona Curve starter Andy Nieto turned in an exceptional performance against the Bowie Baysox at People's Natural Gas Field, resulting in a Altoona win, 4-0. Nieto, now 1-0, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 4, walking 1, and allowing no runs. With the win, Altoona elevates its record to 6-6.

The Curve got a big at-bat from designated hitter Hector Puentes. For the game, Puentes was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the first, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 2nd home run of the season gave Altoona a 2-0 lead.
