Benson Excels in 6-5 Springfield Win
|
The timely hitting of Chris Benson helped the Springfield Cardinals down the Tulsa Drillers, 6-5. Benson went 3-5 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Cardinals. Springfield is now 29-37, Tulsa 50-17.
Benson made an early impact for Springfield when he stroked his 6th home run of the season. The grand slam home run, which came in the top of the second, put the Cardinals on top, 5-0.
"It wasn't our best performance," said Benson, "but a win in this league is nothing to sniff at."
