Springfield Defeats Tulsa, 3-1
|
Springfield and Tulsa played a hard-fought contest.
Mike Lawlor powered the Springfield Cardinals to a win over the Tulsa Drillers. The final score was 3-1. The Springfield designated hitter was phenomenal. He stroked 2 extra-base hits, including 1 home run and 1 double. Springfield is 35-32 and Tulsa, with the loss, 47-20.
With Springfield leading 1-0 in the top of the fifth, Lawlor hit a cutter from Matt Bartos for a 2-run home run. It was his 4th home run of the season and put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.
"I like winning," Lawlor told the Springfield Gazette. "I may joke around, but when it comes down to it, winning is the most important thing."
