Drillers Get Past Springfield for 3-2 Win
|
The Springfield Cardinals got a superb performance from pitcher Joel Kull, but the Tulsa Drillers still won the game, 3-2. Kull threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball. Chad Emery, now 4-2, picked up the win in relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits in 2 innings. Manuel Carrasco recorded the save for Tulsa, his 15th of the season.
Larry Crumpton came through with a big-time hit for Tulsa. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 2-1. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
Crumpton attributed the win to his team's "concerted effort."
The Drillers improved their record to 41-32 by beating Springfield.
