In a low-scoring game between the Midland RockHounds and the Arkansas Travelers, pitcher Wade Ray was the difference-maker. The Midland left-hander was tough as nails in the 3-2 RockHounds win. Sergio Contreraz recorded the save, his 3rd. Midland is now 26-51, Arkansas 34-43.

Had Oscar Alvarez not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Alvarez hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-2, in favor of the RockHounds.

"We hit some balls hard and didn't get rewarded for it," said Arkansas manager Bobby Pappas.
