Springfield pitcher Blake Costello had a large part in his team beating the Midland RockHounds, 8-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Springfield now sports a record of 41-36.

Jarred DiSpirito had a big 2-run triple for the Cardinals in the bottom of the first inning. With Springfield leading 1-0 and runners on 1st and 3rd, he got a sinker from Alex Cruz, who is tied for 10th in the TEX in quality starts with 8, and swatted a triple to right-center. It was his 4th triple of the season, and more importantly, it put the Cardinals ahead, 3-0.
