The Tulsa Drillers downed the Midland RockHounds, 7-5, the largest share of the credit belonging to third baseman Raul Vara. On the day, Vara was 2 for 3 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Drillers. Sean Edmonds got the save, his 1st in 1 chances. Tulsa, at 48-33, is 3½ games up in the North Division.
Vara had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the seventh. On a first pitch slider from Jason Hall, he banged a 3-run home run to right, giving the Drillers a 7-5 lead. It was the 3rd home run of the year for Vara.
