With Late Score, Travelers Beat Hooks
|
Corpus Christi wasted an exceptional performance by pitcher Eric Beattie, falling to the Arkansas Travelers, 4-3. Beattie threw 7.0 innings of 4-hit ball for the losing team. The first-place Travelers bumped their record to 48-34.
Keegan Huggett was the walk-off hero for Arkansas. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Travelers second baseman hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"The crowd was raucous," said Huggett.
