The Frisco RoughRiders defeated the Arkansas Travelers, 5-2, at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Joe Perera was a standout performer for Frisco. His 3 hits included 1 single and 2 doubles -- this in addition to the 1 run he scored and 4 he knocked in. Frisco reliever Jacob Jarvis snagged the win, upping his record to 5-5. Alberto Chavez shouldered the loss. Aaron Lake, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 5th save.

Perera had a timely hit for Frisco in the bottom of the eighth. With Frisco trailing 2-1, he turned a first pitch fastball into a bases-clearing double. It was his 11th double of the season, making it 4-2, Frisco.

"We put our best foot forward tonight," said a smiling Perera.

The second-place Travelers now sit at 42-41.
