The Midland RockHounds sent the home crowd home ecstatic.

In a low-scoring tilt between the Midland RockHounds and the Springfield Cardinals, 23-year old right-handed pitcher Chad Pierce was the difference-maker. The Midland right-hander spearheaded the 3-2 win in 14 innings. After today's action, Midland sits at 39-44, while Springfield falls to 45-38.

The RockHounds got a clutch hit from designated hitter Josh Sanders. In the bottom of the 14th, he delivered a run-scoring single to win the game for the RockHounds.

"This joint was rocking," said Sanders.
