Missions Losing Streak at 5 After Extra-Inning Loss to Hooks
The Corpus Christi Hooks picked up a win at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium, downing the San Antonio Missions, 4-3, in 13 innings. On the mound for Corpus Christi was right-hander Rich Friesz, who played a pivotal role in the win. Bryan Trevino, 1-0, earned the win in relief. He allowed 1 run on 2 hits in 3.2 innings. Corpus Christi is now 41-48, San Antonio 53-36.

Corpus Christi took advantage of an error in the top of the 13th inning. The game was tied, 3-3, when Alan Blondell hit a run-scoring single that was misplayed. It put the Hooks in front, 4-3.

"This was a tremendous character win for our team," said Corpus Christi manager Ivan Cruz.
