Ballard gets 3 RBI, Leads Missions to Win
Spirited fans greeted the Midland RockHounds for their clash with the San Antonio Missions.

The San Antonio Missions downed the Midland RockHounds, 11-5, at Security Bank Ballpark. The Missions were led by John Ballard. He was 2-2 with a home run, a walk, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. Joe Flores was the winning pitcher. Over 7.2 innings, he allowed 3 runs on 6 hits, with 2 walks and 9 strikeouts.

With San Antonio leading 4-2 in the top of the fifth, Ballard hit a fastball from Pete Friedman for a 3-run home run. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Missions ahead, 7-2.

"We swung the bats good throughout the lineup," said San Antonio skipper Mike Coveney.

The win for the Missions raised their record to 51-40.
