Tulsa Beaten, 7-5, by Springfield
|
Springfield and Tulsa duked it out and the Cardinals came out victorious.
A good performance from third baseman Danny Agurkis helped the Springfield Cardinals defeat the Tulsa Drillers, 7-5. Agurkis was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for the Cardinals. Matt Helsen snagged the win in relief. The right-hander allowed 1 run on 2 hits over 2 innings. He's now 6-5 on the season.
Agurkis had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the eighth. On a full count fastball from Mike Uriostegui, he banged a grand slam home run to center, giving the Cardinals a 7-4 lead. It was the 1st home run of the year for Agurkis.
"I just tried to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Agurkis.
Springfield currently is in second place in the North Division at 49-43.
