The Midland RockHounds picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, downing the Frisco RoughRiders, 5-3. On the mound for Midland was right-hander Nick Sanford, who played a pivotal role in the win. The save went to Justin Satern, number 5 for him. The third-place RockHounds have won 4 in a row.

Jaime Mayes went 3-3 with 3 singles and a walk for Midland. The 23-year old shortstop had a key at-bat in the bottom of the fourth. With one out and runners on 1st and 3rd, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring single off Byron Ferraro. It was his 15th hit of the season.

"I know we have our doubters," said Frisco manager Carlos Mercado. "But I still have high hopes for this team."
