The Frisco RoughRiders and Midland RockHounds played an exciting game.

Frisco picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, bumping off the Midland RockHounds, 4-3. Pitcher Rich Alva was a major reason the RoughRiders emerged victorious. Chris Carson closed it out for his 3rd save.

Frisco used a well-timed hit by Eddie Phillips to capture the win. The third baseman socked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the RoughRiders ahead, 3-2. Though it was his only hit in 4 at-bats, it was important.

Phillips called the win "a pick-me-upper."

The RoughRiders, at 41-52, sit in third place in the South Division.
