Aldana Whips Arkansas, 3-0
|
In a seemingly effortless performance, Paulino Aldana of the Springfield Cardinals shot down the Arkansas Travelers, 3-0, on 5 hits.
"Paulino was just locating so well and using his pitches," Springfield manager Tom King said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Aldana recorded 10 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Arkansas manager Mario Serrano said in postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
Up to now Aldana has recorded a record of 8-4. In 18 starts he has fanned 85 batters in 120.1 innings with a 3.74 ERA.
