Matt Green pitched well enough to win, but it was not to be. The Springfield Cardinals, despite Green's fine outing, dropped a 1-0 decision to the Tulsa Drillers at Hammons Field. Tulsa reliever Erik Nasuti got the win, raising his record to 1-0. Matt Green was tagged with the loss. The Drillers raised their record to 73-24.

Tulsa used a clutch hit from Ricky Nieto to get the win. The center fielder drilled a solo home run in the top of the ninth inning to put the Drillers ahead, 1-0. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a game-changer.

"Anytime I can help the team, I feel good about it," said Nieto.
