Corpus Christi Hooks starter Jordan Johnson kept the Midland RockHounds hitters in check, leading his team to a comfortable 6-1 win. At 56-42, the Hooks find themselves in first place in the South Division.
The Hooks got a big at-bat from right fielder Edwin Oliva. For the game, Oliva went 3 for 4 with 2 triples, while scoring 2 runs. In the bottom of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a run-scoring triple. His 4th triple of the season gave Corpus Christi a 1-0 lead.
"It was a good win," said Corpus Christi manager Ka-fei Ong. "Not without blemish, but good."
