In a low-scoring contest between the Corpus Christi Hooks and the Frisco RoughRiders, 27-year old right-handed pitcher Andy Bertrand proved to be the difference. The Corpus Christi right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Hooks win. Picking up the save was Sid Massagli, his 2nd. The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Hooks.

Manny Aguayo hit a 2-run home run off Jose Velazquez in the bottom of the second, which put the Hooks ahead, 2-0. In addition to the homer, Aguayo had 1 double, while going 2 for 4.

"I didn't leave too many pitches out over the plate," said Bertrand.
