Led by Phil Walker, the Midland RockHounds defeated the San Antonio Missions, 6-4. Walker was 2 for 3 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the RockHounds. Picking up the win was Nick Sanford. He went 6.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 6 hits. The right--hander struck out 5 and walked 2. The third-place RockHounds are now 41-60, the Missions 63-38.

Walker contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Midland in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Walker took a changeup from Brian Boon and stroked the home run to left. His 6th home run of the season allowed the RockHounds to leap in front, 4-2.

"Phil was ready to go. Big day for him," said Midland manager Jeremy Rodal.
