The Northwest Arkansas Naturals knocked off the Springfield Cardinals, 5-2, in Texas League action at Hammons Field. Northwest Arkansas pitcher and Takanosu, Japan, native Shizuo Saito had an outstanding performance. The winning pitcher was Saito, now 7-4. He tossed 5.2 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 4. Northwest Arkansas is now 50-52, while Springfield is 56-46.
Northwest Arkansas went up, 5-2, on Sean Ownby's 8th home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Ownby hit in the top of the ninth, left Springfield pitcher Jose Linares shaking his head.
"You have to trust that what you're doing is going to produce results," said Saito.
