The San Antonio Missions beat the Midland RockHounds, 6-2, at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. San Antonio third baseman Andrew Lankford had an outstanding performance. He went 2-4 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. The first-place Missions improved to 68-40.
With San Antonio leading 2-1 in the bottom of the fourth, Lankford hit a fastball from Wade Ray for a grand slam home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Missions ahead, 6-1.
Lankford attributed the win to his team's "determination."
