RockHounds Walk It Off for 53rd Win of Season
The Midland RockHounds withstood a fine game by San Antonio designated hitter Amaro Alfarela at Security Bank Ballpark, to upend the Missions, 9-7. Alfarela was 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Chad Pierce, credited with the win in relief, is now 6-2. He allowed 1 run on 1 hit in 1.2 innings. The RockHounds now have a mark of 53-55.

Midland got a game-changing hit from Sam Bowes. The second baseman blasted a grand slam home run in the bottom of the ninth inning to win the game. It was his only hit in 4 at-bats, but it was a winner.
