Missions Hang 8-1 Loss on Hooks
|
The Corpus Christi Hooks and San Antonio Missions were greeted by an enthusiastic crowd.
The San Antonio Missions defeated the Corpus Christi Hooks, 8-1, in Texas League action at Whataburger Field. San Antonio pitcher Victor Duro had a standout performance. San Antonio is 62-47 and Corpus Christi, with the loss, 46-63.
San Antonio used the bat of Sincere Robinson to get the win. The designated hitter hammered a grand slam home run in the top of the fifth inning to put the Missions ahead, 6-0. It was his lone hit in 5 at-bats, but it did its damage.
"We'll put that win in the can," said Duro, "and go after the next one."
