RoughRiders Earn 7-4 Home Win
|
The timely hitting of Shane Trahan helped the Frisco RoughRiders down the Midland RockHounds, 7-4. Trahan went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the RoughRiders. Mike Aguilar picked up the win, lifting his record to 9-8 on the season. He struck out 5 and walked 3 in 6.1 innings, while yielding 4 runs. Frisco, now 51-61, holds down third place in the South Division.
The RoughRiders got a big at-bat from center fielder Kelly Whitfield. For the game, Whitfield went 2 for 4 with a double. He drove in 3 runs. In the bottom of the second, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing double. His 3rd double of the season gave Frisco a 4-2 lead.
"Winning is always a team effort," Whitfield said after the game.
