Missions Keep Streak Alive with Late Rally
|
The Springfield Cardinals got a superb performance from pitcher Tsuneo Tanada. Still, it wasn't enough to beat San Antonio. The Missions won the game, 2-0. Tanada threw 7.0 innings of shutout ball. The Missions improved their record to 74-40 by beating Springfield.
Andrew Lankford came through with a big-time hit for San Antonio. The shortstop smacked a 2-run home run in the top of the ninth inning to give his team the lead, 2-0. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Pedal to the metal" is how San Antonio manager David Medina described his team's approach.
