Midland Tumbles Again, Falls, 5-4, to Northwest Arkansas

The Northwest Arkansas Naturals weathered a fine game by Midland first baseman Javon Cargill to upend the RockHounds, 5-4, at Security Bank Ballpark. Cargill went 3-4 with 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. The winning pitcher was Joe Gravatt. He's now 8-9. He went 7.2 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits for the Naturals. The RockHounds, now 36-79, have lost 7 straight.
Pat Grant drew 1 walk for Northwest Arkansas. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the top of the second. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 0-0 tie with a run-scoring ground out off Ray Tschida. It was his 10th RBI of the season.
"We're in a rut," said Midland manager Jay Mizrahi.
