Cardinals Rally to Win
|
Springfield pinch hitter Ernesto Gareia played a vital role in his team's 8-5 conquest of San Antonio. He was 1-1 with a home run, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Springfield. Alejandro Reyes earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 3 innings. His record is now 4-2. The Cardinals sit in last place in the North Division with a record of 51-65.
In the top of the eighth, the Cardinals grabbed the lead when Gareia hit his 3rd home run of the season. The grand slam home run off Justin Frantz made it 7-5, Springfield.
"Trying isn't good enough in this league," said Gareia. "You've got to get results."
