The Midland RockHounds took on the Springfield Cardinals at Hammons Field.

The Midland RockHounds topped the Springfield Cardinals, 8-7, at Hammons Field. Midland left fielder Mario Bustos was a spark plug for the offense. He was 2 for 4 with a home run and a walk, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Wade Ray got the win, improving to 5-6. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 3. Justin Satern closed it out for Midland, earning his 10th save.

In the top of the sixth, the RockHounds grabbed the lead when Bustos hit his 4th home run of the season. The 3-run home run off Tony Wise made it 6-4, Midland.

"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Bustos told the Midland Citizen.

With the victory, the RockHounds record stands at 45-73.
