5-4 Win Takes Drillers to 82-41
|
Despite a great performance by Midland first baseman Juan Franco, the Tulsa Drillers defeated the RockHounds by the score of 5-4 at ONEOK Field. Franco went 2-4 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Chris Sherwood notched the win in relief. The left-hander allowed 3 runs on 3 hits in 3.2 innings. His record now sits at 7-1. Andres Bertran picked up his 37th save of the season.
Tulsa took a 5-3 lead on Matt Thomson's 19th double of the season. The 2-run double, which Thomson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Midland pitcher Melvin Juarez visibly frustrated.
"We'll kick back tonight, then get set for the next one," Thomson said.
Tulsa is now 82-41, Midland 59-64.
