The Midland RockHounds stopped the Arkansas Travelers, 8-6, at Dickey-Stephens Park. The RockHounds got a big game from Ted Ruffner, who went 3 for 4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk, while scoring 3 times. The win makes Midland 51-73.

Midland used a well-timed hit by Bill Segarra to capture the win. The pinch hitter socked a bases-clearing double in the top of the fifth inning to put the RockHounds ahead, 7-4. Though it was his only hit in 1 at-bat, it was important.

"It wasn't a pretty victory," said Ruffner, "but we got it done."
