The Corpus Christi Hooks picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, taking down the Midland RockHounds, 5-2, in 10 innings. On the mound for Corpus Christi was right-hander Christian Peraza. He played a central role in the triumph. The winner in relief was Elias Placencia. He is now 1-0. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2 innings. By defeating Midland, the last-place Hooks improved to 45-80.

Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Chris Nin? The 26-year old third baseman Nin stroked a run-scoring single in the top of the tenth inning to put Corpus Christi up, 3-2. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
