The San Antonio Missions weathered a fine game by Midland right fielder Steve Witmer to upend the RockHounds, 8-4, at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Witmer was 4-4 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. Dusty Troutman, now 10-4, picked up the win in relief. He allowed 3 runs on 4 hits in 3 innings. Lance Corzine finished the game for San Antonio and earned his 6th save.

Kenny Helm hit a 2-run double off Mike Leingang in the bottom of the first, which put the Missions in front, 3-1. In addition to the double, Helm had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"We took advantage of our opportunities," Helm told the San Antonio Herald. "It's as simple as that."

San Antonio is now 74-51. Midland is 51-74.
