Drillers Suffer One-Run Loss at Northwest Arkansas
|
The Northwest Arkansas Naturals locked up a win at Arvest Ballpark, knocking off the Tulsa Drillers, 4-3. On the mound for Northwest Arkansas was left-hander Mark Ashford. He played a major role in the triumph. The winning pitcher was Ashford, now 1-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 4-hit ball, while walking 0 and fanning 8. The Naturals move to 63-62 with the win, while the Drillers drop to 75-50.
Jordan Sanchez dealt the Drillers a blow in the bottom of the sixth. Batting with runners on 2nd and 3rd and Northwest Arkansas leading 3-0, Sanchez hit a first pitch splitter for a run-scoring single.
"Mark was able to execute his pitches," said Northwest Arkansas manager Travis Brassard. "Simple as that."
