In a low-scoring contest, San Antonio pitcher Bobby Isom was marvelous, enabling his team to nab a 3-1 win. The winner was Isom. He threw 7.0 innings of 5-hit ball. The loser was Dwight Pitts. Chris Cox sewed up the save, his 14th.

The RoughRiders had been locked in a 0-0 tie with the Missions going into the bottom of the fifth inning. That changed quickly when the 26-year old first baseman Mike Sanchez came to the plate. Sanchez hit a 3-run home run on a 0-1 fastball from Frisco hurler Dwight Pitts. It was Sanchez's 4th home run of the year.

"The fact of the matter is that we had a shot to win," said losing manager Carlos Mercado.

The win puts the Missions at 79-47, while the RoughRiders drop to 52-74.
