Drillers Upend Travelers, 5-4
|
Fans watched the Tulsa Drillers and the Arkansas Travelers fight to the finish.
Arkansas first baseman Rafael Cabrera had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Cabrera was 2-3 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2, even as Tulsa beat the Travelers, 5-4. Jorge Cortez, who is tied for 10th in the TEX in strikeouts with 139, was the winner. He's now 13-3. The loser was Justin Jones.
Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Dustin Mollman? The Tulsa catcher had a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Drillers on top, 5-3. For the game, Mollman had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.
"I try to not think too much," said Mollman.
Tulsa has won 5 straight games.
