The Midland RockHounds picked up a win at Dr. Pepper Ballpark, knocking off the Frisco RoughRiders, 5-2. Starting pitcher Xavier Clayton was a big reason why. Midland occupies second place in the South Division at 69-59.

Aaron Champion drove in one run against the RoughRiders. With the game tied in the top of the 11th inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Midland in front, 3-2.

"We just battled, never quit, and continued to grind out at-bats trying to create some opportunities," said Midland manager Tony Gonzalez.
