Daniel Thompson did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the San Antonio Missions from being beaten, 7-6, to the Midland RockHounds at Nelson W. Wolff Municipal Stadium. Thompson was 2-3 with a home run, a double, a walk, and was hit by a pitch. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Danny Salazar got credit for the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 3 runs on 8 hits in 7 innings. Josh Carr earned the save for Midland, his 2nd of the year.

Omar Portillo drove in one run against the Missions. With the game tied in the top of the seventh inning, he hit a sacrifice fly that put Midland in front, 4-3.

"We'll take this win and move on," said Portillo.
