Bougie Swings Cardinals to 8-2 Win
|
Due in large part to right fielder John Bougie, the Springfield Cardinals sunk the Arkansas Travelers, 8-2. Bougie went 4-4 with a home run, a double, 2 singles, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 2. Paulino Aldana, credited with the win, is now 5-2. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 9 innings. Springfield sits in second place in the North Division at 66-64.
Bougie contributed in the bottom of the first. With a runner on 1st, he hit a run-scoring double. It was one at-bat among others that helped Springfield get the win.
Springfield manager Tom King commended his team for "putting the pedal to the metal."
