Missions Down Hooks, 2-1
|
San Antonio pitcher Francisco Ruelas did his part in helping his team beat the Corpus Christi Hooks, 2-1. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jacob Magaw picked up the save, his 25th. The Missions, at 82-53, have now won 5 straight.
Steve Matteucci, the 27-year old second baseman , had a direct impact on the outcome. Matteucci contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the first inning to put San Antonio up, 2-0.
"This team is real focused right now," said San Antonio manager Mike Coveney.
