Corpus Christi turned a good effort from starter Jordan Johnson into a win over the Frisco RoughRiders at Whataburger Field. The Hooks won the game, 2-1. Johnson yielded 1 run over 7 innings to notch the win. He scattered 5 hits, walked 3, and struck out 7. His record improves to 10-9. Picking up the save was Jose Acosta, his 5th.

The Hooks got a big at-bat from center fielder Antonio Rodriguez. For the game, Rodriguez was 1 for 4 with a double. He drove in 2 runs. In the bottom of the sixth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 2-run double. His 27th double of the season gave Corpus Christi a 2-1 lead.

"Well, it's always frustrating to lose," said Frisco manager Carlos Mercado.

With the win, the Hooks improved to 51-86.
