The Midland RockHounds picked up a win at Security Bank Ballpark, knocking off the Corpus Christi Hooks, 11-3. Starting pitcher Chris Miller was a big reason why. The third-place RockHounds raised their record to 57-80.

Midland second baseman Brian Kantar contributed a timely at-bat in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, he hit a fastball into center field for a 2-run single. It was his 19th hit of the season and put the RockHounds ahead, 2-0.

"I had a good game plan," said Miller. "I made my pitches." His manager concurred. "It was all there," Adam Ford said, "the velocity, the sharpness of his pitches."
