Crosscutters Edged, 3-2, by West Virginia

Williamsport got a terrific performance from pitcher Greg Dahlgren, but it wasn't enough to beat the West Virginia Black Bears. West Virginia won the Bowman Field contest, 3-2. Dahlgren threw 7.0 innings of 1-hit ball for the losing team. Tim Knowles snagged the win in relief. He goes to 1-0 on the season. Chris Pasquini suffered the loss. Dave Stearns earned the save for West Virginia, his 1st.
Seth Clark came through with a big-time hit for West Virginia. The pinch hitter smacked a solo home run in the top of the eighth inning to give his team the lead, 3-2. It was his only hit, but it was clutch.
"Tip of the cap to the Black Bears," said Williamsport manager B.J. Olenchuk. "They played a good game."
With the win, West Virginia boosts its record to 3-0.
