Antonio Fuentes never let the Tigers get in a groove. The left-hander used his bread and butter, his splitter, to pitch the Lake Monsters to a win, 2-1. The winning pitcher was Fuentes, now 1-0. He tossed 7 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 3 and fanning 4. Ricky Jaco recorded his 1st save for Vermont.

Mike Taylor had a big run-scoring double for the Lake Monsters in the bottom of the first inning. With Vermont leading 1-0 and a runner on 3rd, he got a cutter from 23-year old left-handed pitcher Kyle Harrop and swatted a double to right-center. It was his 3rd double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Lake Monsters ahead, 2-0.

"Antonio mixed and matched," said Vermont manager Jerry Zuniga.

Vermont has a mark of 1-3 after the win.
